What We Do

Making Greater Manchester greener

The GMET is a registered charity that channels green finance into Greater Manchester through our Green Spaces Fund.

We work with grassroots groups, corporate supporters and a network of partners across the city region to make Greater Manchester greener for all.

We also work with organisations to help them meet environment-focused aims, including Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Value, Biodiversity Net Gain commitments and Carbon Offsetting.

If you are interested in meeting the team to discuss current opportunities and how we can work together to improve Greater Manchester’s environment for all, we would love to hear from you.

You can get in touch by e-mailing us at info@gmet.org.uk.

Biodiversity Net Gain

We can work with developers, landowners and managers, and Local Authorities to deliver their Biodiversity Net Gain commitments, ensuring that responsible development results in more biodiversity in our county, not less.

Carbon Offsetting

We are exploring opportunities to set up a regional carbon mitigation facility which will enable local businesses to support high quality carbon projects across Greater Manchester and accelerate their journey to net-zero through the purchase of carbon credits.
