About the project
PROJECT TITLE: Cascade Garden
LOCATION: Stockport
FUNDING: Awarded £10,600 in Round Six of the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund
DELIVERED BY: Easy Peel Studio CIC
The idea
Our project will completely transform the tired, unused space around Stopford House, an iconic Brutalist civic building in the heart of Stockport, into an exciting new garden.
We’ll revitalise the concrete planters and bring the decommissioned waterfall back to life as a unique green focal point, covered with beautiful planting.
Perennials, fruit trees, climbers, herbs, and veg will fill the space. From design to planting and care, everything will be shaped through hands-on workshops with local people, including disadvantaged groups and charities.
This will be a place to grow and connect - bringing new life to a forgotten piazza.
