About the project
PROJECT TITLE: Parsonage Pocket Park
LOCATION: Manchester
FUNDING: Awarded £40,000 in Round Six of the Greater Manchester Green Spaces Fund
DELIVERED BY: Withington Village Regeneration Partnership
The idea
Our project seeks to create a new community pocket park from what is currently a dead-end road.
The road, which is right at the heart of our neighbourhood, has recently been permanently closed by Manchester City Council following a community led campaign to improve road safety and encourage sustainable travel.
The resultant area is currently characterised by unsightly and unusable hard surface, but represents a great opportunity to create a beautiful new green space for the enjoyment of the whole community which will also help redress the climate & biodiversity crisis locally.
