The team at Gorse Hill Studios launched 'The Green Rooms', with help from our Green Spaces Fund. Now, they're looking to push this project to new heights with three fantastic expansion ideas.

Project Idea #1: Buzzin' Biodiverse Arches for Pollinators & Birds
Funding Required: £3,000
Summary:
We want to install three large living arches planted with pollinator-friendly flowers and shrubs, integrated with bee hotels and bird nesting boxes. They will create a green corridor that feels immersive, attracts wildlife, and offers shade and beauty. We aim to complete their construction in 3 month with the help of local families, schools, and community groups.
Resources Needed:
• 3 arch structures
• Plants
• Biodiversity features such as bird boxes
• Signage
Anticipated Measurable Outcomes:
• 3 arches installed
• 50+ pollinator plants added
• 6 biodiversity habitats (bee hotels, bird boxes)
• 100 community members engaged
Project Idea #2: ‘Green House’ Learning Hub
Funding Required: £2,000
Summary:
We want to create an outdoor classroom space with seating, shade, and educational boards to deliver nature-based learning sessions for schools and community groups. We will aim to complete this work in 4 months for the benefit of children, educators and local residents.
Resources Needed:
• Benches
• Canopy
• Signage
• Teaching materials
Anticipated Measurable Outcomes:
• 12 workshops per year
• 300 children engaged annually
• Increased awareness of biodiversity and sustainability
Project Idea #3: Green Sound Barrier
Funding Required: £3,500 - £5,000
Summary:
We want to help create a safer, quieter, and clean green space and block out the sound and pollution from the busy main road. We'd like to install a soundproof fence, air-cleaning plants, and get the community involved.
Resources Needed:
• Acoustic panels: £2,200 –£4,000
· Plants & Trees: £500 – £1,000
· Installation: £800 – £900
· Signage: £200 – £300

Anticipated Measurable Outcomes:
• Noise reduction: 10–15 dB
· 20+ air-purifying plants and trees installed
· 100+ community participants engaged
· Fully enclosed safe garden space
